The Evolution of Characters, Worlds, and a Mechanized Universe

Full Metal Exosuits: The Crimson Dragon was a labor of love, patience, and persistence. It started humbly as a story titled "Kale" - after my protagonist, Jaygo Yen Kale, whose name went through transformations from Jago, Jaego, and finally, Jaygo, owing to constant mispronunciations.
The backbone of my story, the Iratian Empire, was a product of my fascination with Italy and the Holy Roman Empire, while Atoli, a city in my universe, was geographically inspired by the vibrant city of Hong Kong. As for the Corvans, their motherland echoes Russia's chilling landscape, but their people carry the features of the Irish.
It wasn't always about Full Metal Exosuits (FMEs), the magnificent Gundam-inspired suits worn like Iron Man's armor. The first draft actually revolved around an airforce team. However, the allure of mechanized suits of armor that people could wear proved irresistible. And thus, FMEs found their place in the story, forever changing the direction of the novel.
In my initial drafts, Jaygo would have killed Lynn, a pivotal character, after a shocking revelation from the latter. Tyrn, another important figure, was also slated to die. However, I quickly realized both narrative choices were too depressing and didn't align with the overall direction I wanted for my story. So, Lynn and Tyrn were spared, and the book underwent ten complete drafts before seeing the light of the day.
The genesis of Full Metal Exosuits: The Crimson Dragon dates back to 2013, when the idea was first outlined. Over the years, it morphed and grew, turning into a mecha setting filled with intense rivalry, powerful magic known as Ti, strategic wars, and emotional journeys.
The road to the final published version was long and arduous, but the result is something I'm incredibly proud of. Jaygo's journey from a vengeful captain to a leader who overcomes hatred, Lynn's transformation from a friend to an enemy, and Tyrn's role as the true leader of the Leviathan Company and her evolving relationship with Jaygo - all contribute to the depth and dynamism of the Full Metal Exosuits universe.
The characters of my universe come from varied ethnic backgrounds. The Corvans, based on Russia, are predominantly blonde or redheads with green or blue eyes. The Iratians, inspired by China and the Roman Empire, are largely Asian, featuring a broad variety of appearances due to Irati's expansive geography, which even includes parts of India.
The journey continues with a sequel already written and the final book of the trilogy halfway finished. The epic saga will culminate with Lynn's redemption and the Leviathan Company's showdown with the mighty demon, Oniyama.
Every story is a journey, both for the characters and the author. Full Metal Exosuits: The Crimson Dragon is mine. As an author, I've traversed through numerous drafts, character iterations, and plotlines to bring this universe to life. And now, it thrills me to invite you, dear readers, to embark on this adventure with me.
Stay tuned for the next chapters in this captivating universe!
